Engineering Work
Network Rail regularly carries out engineering work and maintenance on its infrastructure, this can have varying degrees of effects on trains services.
Even though this engineering work is often carried out overnight and journeys remain largely unaffected, sometimes more extensive work is needed, and this may result in trains being retimed, cancelled, diverted, replaced by road transport or just delayed.
Any alterations to train times are usually included in the rail timetables we quote online, allowing you to see the effects on your journey times in several ways, including:
- Longer journey times
- Additional changes
- Rail replacement services
These details will be included in your sales confirmation emails.
Whenever there is major engineering work or other disruptions at short notice, we will endeavour to contact you with a revised schedule or alternative arrangements using the contact details you have given to us, to keep you informed at all times.
Details of engineering work around the country that might affect your train journey can be found by checking with National Rail enquiries.
